Live Text : Wednesday's Football - The Second Halves

21-43 : So that is that for tonight, thanks once again for your excellent contributions. It's been another good night of football, and we hope you've enjoyed it and won some money! While Lille let us down, we did predict Basel to snatch a point over Benfica, so it's not all winning but it's a start! Round up on the way, thank you and goodnight.

21-41 : Much more productive night tonight for English sides, and a few cracking goals flying in across the games. A thriller in Munich, a Dutch demolition by Ajax and Madrid moving through with two games to spare, with a host of other results too. Check back to the page later for the round up!

21-39 : And we're now done in all games. No more goals went in, so it's as we were. Inter hold on, Benfica held by Basel as predicted by TacticalBet, and Madrid, Munich and Ajax also winning.

21-38 : Game over now in Spain, an extremely comfortable 3-0 win for City. They'll be delighted with that, and rightly so. They have 7 points, Munich 10, so it's almost a straight fight between them and Napoli, who have 5 points themselves.

21-37 : Trabzonspor have drawn against CSKA 0-0, a game we didn't mention due to its obvious lack of goals.

21-35 : United have won, 2-0. Not the perfect performance they'll have wanted, by a win is a win and they can top their group tonight. Ajax add a fourth before full time.

21-34 : Literally nothing happening in Spain, City have shut this game down very effectively. As I type that, a Villarreal player falls over himself in the corner.

21-33 : Lille 6.6 to nab a late draw in Italy now.

21-31 : Wilkins does it again seconds later, will somebody please stop him saying that phrase! Goals going in late on, Lille pull one back at Inter, and Blackpool are now winning 5-0 at Leeds. Wow.

21-30 : That one may end up as an own goal, by the way. For me, it's Rooney's goal though. Ray Wilkins says 'my word' for the 100th time on Sky tonight, as Rooney goes close again.

21-30 : Goal! United have sealed it, game over. Rooney drives one in from a distance, but it's going straight to the keeper... Deflected and in. How cruel, Sarghi the offender. Job done for United, but Galati have fought so hard and that will sting a little.

21-28 : Final change for Villarreal, but to be honest their lights went out a long time ago.

21-27 : City just cruising to a win here, and a good one at that. Not much occuring in the last few minutes though, and with 8 left to play, Mancini and his men can relax now and turn their attentions to the weekend game against QPR. Lots of you saying on Twitter you'd love a Rooney-Cleverly combination in midfield.

21-24 : It's not been vintage United, but they still lead and that's all that matters. Cardiff have a third at Derby, and Napoli have another one back! 8.8 to complete the comeback and draw that game against Bayern.

21-24 : To no avail, again a pass goes astray and it breaks down. Galati now go close, a free kick just needing a touch... But there is none and De Gea collects low down.

21-23 : Having boldly said it was 'cranking up' minutes ago, it's almost died. The subs are dragging on and not a lot is happening. Here come United though...

21-21 : Subs in their numbers now, Park on at Old Trafford. Can he finish this off?

21-20 : Sandipan Chowdhury claims he's 'sure Berbatov will score before 90 minutes' is up, bold call given the Bulgarians finishing on show so far. Distinctly average.

21-18 : Madrid hit another, game over in Lyon. Ronaldo the man, 100th goal for the club. Here comes Aguero, on for Yaya Toure, who's impressive night is complete.

21-16 : It's cranking up a notch now all over as we enter the last 15 to 20 minutes. Berbatov wastes a good chance, we've heard that before tonight. The draw there remains 16.5...

21-15 : Delightful goal, City 3-0 up now. Balotelli leads a counter, before un-selfishly squaring to Toure, who's neat footwork and finish sees him bag a second goal. Game, set and match at El Madrigal.

21-15 : The six or seven somebody predicted earlier on Twitter just hasn't happened, and the Romanians keep impressing.

21-14 : Inter 2-0, Blackpool 4-0. Wins for them you would've thought now.

21-12 : Galati fire a free kick in, and it's dealt with by Rio Ferdinand. Balotelli involved again in Spain, winning a free kick of their own. No doubt about that one, scythed down as he strode forward.

21-11 : Basel are level! What did I say... Huggel netting, and in the Championship Cardiff have scored another, an own goal.

21-10 : Adam Johnson on, Silva off. The little magician feeling his back a little, that could be a worry for City, a second of the night after Mancini's been spotted with an ice pack on his head after his early bang.

21-08 : Ajax have a third, and finally we have a goal. Lyon now 6.2 to draw their game...

21-08 : Free header from Berbatov, but it's a simple save. A lot of reaction on the Twitter about United's performance, and they're coming in for some criticism, but I would have to say Galati are doing very well.

21-05 : Galati have done well tonight, massive underdogs but they're hanging in there. Quiet all over now on the goal front, not a lot happening.

21-02 : Back to Spain, comfortable would be the adjective I'd use. Under control, City stroke the ball round nicely in their own half.

21-00 : No goals as of yet in the second halves. Galati 16.5 to snatch a draw now, and they go close through Fruenza's shot, the sub firing 5 or 6 feet wide after a well struck effort. Closer.

21-00 : Anderson thinks he's scored, but what a clearance that is! Captain Costin gets back to slide and hack the Brazilians' clever chip over the keep, great commitment and execution from the big man.

20-59 : Mario Balotelli does, into the wall and out for a corner.

20-58 : Free kick after Silva shows some trickery on the edge of the Villarreal box. Who will take this one?

20-58 : Gavin Haddock asks the question, 'Is Kompany the most improved player over the last three years?' What are your thoughts?

20-55 : Berbatov blasts a decent shooting opportunity over the bar, really should have hit the target there. United come forward again though, constant pressure now with Galati only a threat on the break.

20-53 : De Gea punches clear under pressure, Galati haven't given this up yet. They've made a change, Ilie off and Frunza on, Romanians up and down the country hoping that can be a turning point.

20-51 : Villarreal appeal for a penalty now, but nothing doing and rightly so. They're come out fired up and ready to try and rescue this one. Odds are against them, however. United go close, Hernandez firing at Grahovac in the goal.

20-50 : Mario Gomez has a hat-rick in Munich, impressive stuff. All the games now up and running!

20-48 : United go close already, they'll be wanting to wrap this up early enough and are showing that with some early pressure.

20-47 : United kicking off earlier than City here, due to the penalty extending their stoppage time.

20-46 : Just getting underway again at ground across Europe, big 45 minutes in a fair few teams campaigns coming up. Where's your money?
