TB's Update

Following the conclusion of both The Open in Kent, and the Women's World Cup in Germany, there is a lull in the sporting action for a few days. As celebration of Darren Clarke's victory, he's our man in the 'Video Gallery' today. However, there is of course the England - India series beginning with the 1st test on Thursday at Lords.

England are placed at 3.55 to claim a win, with counter-parts India at 6.1 to achieve the same feat. However, it is worth nothing that rain is forecast to play a part, particularly in the opening few days, so a draw could be a more likely outcome at 1.86.

Strauss to be England's best batsmen in the first innings? 5.6. He hit form in a recent warm-up game for Somerset against the tourists, so that could be a winning bet.

Kevin Pietersen to outscore Sachin Tendulkar over the match? 2.05. 'The Little Master' doesn't have a great record at Lords, and hasn't played a great deal of cricket over the past few months after being rested from the tour of West Indies, so again a potential winning bet.

India to win the toss and field? 2.24. Obviously the winning of the toss is a lottery, but it must be noted that the conditions suggest that bowling first will be a sure fire option for whoever wins it, and it's 50/50 that it'll be India.

Our reporters will be there live on both Thursday and Friday to bring you live updates and tips as the day progresses, so keep a close eye on the Facebook and Twitter pages for such updates. Links to these can be found on the side of this page.
